the cover with polished ebony panels applied on each side in rose diamonds with double L monogram, reeded gold spine and mounts, now with pale blue silk lining and covered notebook, fastened by a reeded gold pencil-shaped pointer topped by a banded agate seal matrix engraved with a standing eagle within a band of rose diamonds, maker's mark rubbed, charge and discharge marks of Louis Robin, the pointer apparently unmarked
