miniature very crusty with paint losses, lining of lid has been replaced with black velvet, otherwise good and crisp condition

The portrait appears to be composite, with the body wearing a Russian uniform and orders appropriate to members of the Imperial family. The face, however, has been restored so that it no longer resembles an identifiable person.
