Condition
Usual dents and scratches. One bayonet element possibly resoldered on cover rim. Marks legible under base, with assay scrape. Very early piece. Nice piercing and engraving on cover.

Seuls deux autres saupoudroirs de cette forme au poinçon de Mons sont répertoriés, tous deux du début du XVIIIe siècle. L'un des deux est également par Moitemont et date de 1705-1706. Voir Sébastien Tercelin de Joigny, le XVIIIe siècle à Mons, 2010, p. 73.
Celui présenté ici est le plus ancien connu au poinçon de cette ville.
