ronde, le couvercle à charnière serti du profil miniature d'une jeune femme, école anglaise, vers 1780, émaillée de violet translucide sur un fond guilloché, le couvercle bordé de perles d'émail blanc, la bâte de guirlandes d'émaux translucides, poinçon de maître, poinçons de charge et décharge de Jean-Baptiste Fouache, le bord gauche numéroté : 676
circular, the hinged lid inset with a portrait miniature of a lady in profile, English school, circa 1780, the ground, sides and base enamelled in translucent purple over diaper engine-turning, the lid with white beaded borders, the side borders further embellished with transluscent enamel garlands, maker's mark, charge and discharge marks of Jean-Baptiste Fouache, the left rim numbered: 676

Condition
enamel to side excellently restored, a small chip to enamel near the miniature, not visible on the photo. Miniature with colours slightly faded, the interior of the lid is slightly crimmed around the edges where it has evidently been removed and replaced, possibly for the insertion of a different miniature, very minor losses to green enamel on side borders.
