comprising 12 cut-crystal and silver-gilt flagons, a mirror, a coffee-pot on warming-stand with lamp, a beaker, a 6-piece writing set, a 17-piece sewing set, 4 ivory brushes and a tortoiseshell shoehorn, all pieces engraved with Imperial crown, in fitted mahogany case, with 2 covers (one canvas, one leather), the cover inset with a brass plaque engraved with cypher OBBCALM under Princely coronet, the cover mount stamped PERET, orfèvre, ébéniste, fabricant de nécessaires, trousses, sacs nécessaires de voyage, 18 rue de Montmorency St Martin, also numbered 1865 and 4490

Condition

In overall excellent condition. The external canvas cover with some stains. Fully marked. According to the owner's family, the letters on cover stand as follows: O for Olga, B for Baden, B for Baden, C for Cecilia, A for Augusta, L for Leopold, M for Michel so this monogram could also be that of Olga von Baden, daughter of Duke Leopold, born in 1839 who married in 1857 Michael Nicolaievitch, 4th son of Tsar Nicolas I. Exceptional set, very high quality.

La Grande-Duchesse Olga Nicolaievna (1822-1892), fille du tsar Nicolas I, épouse en 1846 le roi Charles I de Wurtemberg (1823-1891). Il s'agit très probablement d'un cadeau reçu à l'occasion de son mariage.
