While this painting presents a very decorative image, the wrinkled surface suggests that the paint layer may have been disturbed at some point; it appears that it may have originally been painted on panel and transferred to canvas. the canvas has been wax relined. detail overall has been very well retained and the colors are strong. examination under UV reveals some horizontal lines of retouching in the peaches where there are some wrinkles in the surface; otherwise, ther are only a few other tiny retouches scattered.
