Condition

The canvas has an old relining. The picture has discolored over time and is under a dirty milky varnish, rendering any possible older retouches underneath invisible. No significant retouches are perceptible above the varnish, either through UV or as seen by the naked eye. A light cleaning and fresh varnish could bring out nicely many of the colors which are now muted by the surface dirt. There is a small indentation to the physical canvas at the lower left corner. In a carved gilt wood frame with a few scattered nicks to the gilding.
