Condition

Relined and under a dirty, discolored old varnish. there is some lifting and a few tiny losses in the upper part of red curtain. overall, the paint surface has been well preserved and the figure reads very well. examination under ultraviolet reveals some scattered retouches in her black dress and some small retouches to fingers or hand at right. a few others scattered in background with a larger area in red curtain just to the right of her face.
