Condition

Relined and under a slightly dirty varnish. surface has been very slilghtly pressed and there are noticeable areas of thinness in her costume. overall the figure still reads quite well. examination under ultraviolet reveals an old repaired hole or tear in her sleeve at lower center; there are some scattered retouches on her face, neck and chest; otheres here and there in background with a diagonal area of retouching at upper right corner over an old crease or fold. a few retouches on lamb. this painting has not been attended to in a long time and some of these old restorations could be better applied to improve the overall appearance. In an elaborately carved and gilt wood frame with some losses and nicks.
