The complete set of 96 etchings with the additional suite of 96 etchings on japan paper, 1948, comprising 11 vignette pages, text by Nicolas Gogol, with title page, list of plates, signed on the justification page by the artist in black ink, this copy numbered 11 from the edition of 50, printed by Louis Fort, published by Tériade, Paris, on wove paper, some sheets watermarked Les Ames Mortes, and japan paper encased in original folded flaps in cardboard folder covered with beige paper with the label on the spine, the folders contained in a beige cardboard slipcase

Condition

The full sheets, in good condition apart from the additional suite with occasional creasing along edges of sheets, very occasional foxmarks and pale offsetting, pale scattered foxing on folded paper flaps and grey paper partially torn, cardboard folder with slight surface dirt and the attached labels with scattered foxing.
