Condition

The painting is warmer in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The canvas has been lined and the paint surface appears to be in good overall condition with no apparent damage or loss of paint visible to the naked eye. There is some minor frame abrasion along the top edge of the canvas and the varnish has blanched slightly/ Examination under ultraviolet reveals scattered minor areas of cosmetic retouching most noticeable around the wing of the topmost duck and in the foliage lower right, however further inspection is hindered by the aforementioned varnish. Offered in a gilt wood and plaster frame in good condition.
