Condition
The painting is a little more muted in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The canvas has been laid down on a single flat panel. To the naked eye the paint surface appears in good condition with no apparent damage or losses. In the darker tones the paint appears a little sunken. Inspection under UV light reveals a 15 cm restored tear lower left and other very minor retouchings in the background. Offered in an old, possibly period, painted black and gold frame with some losses.
