Thence by direct family descent.
Condition
The painting is a touch more yellow than it appears in the catalogue illustration.
The canvas has an old relining. The paint surface is secure and appears to be in good original condition under a dirty, old, yellowed varnish. There are two small losses along the margin, one of 2 cm on the left upper margin and the other of 1 cm on the upper right margin, as well as a three tiny losses on the lower right margin. Old, scattered, discoloured retouchings are visible to the naked eye, as visible in the catalogue illustration and these are confirmed under UV light. The blue of her robe has slightly discoloured but the white of her headdress is largely untouched and original.
Offered in gilt wood and plaster frame in good condition with some old losses.
