Condition

The tone of the original is a touch less pink than it appears in the catalogue illustration, most notably in the background. The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is secure, clean and generally in good condition, if a bit thin in some of the darker pigments. Inspection under UV light reveals some minor scattered retouchings in the aforementioned abraded pigments, most notably in the chain mail of the figure lower left and in the boar. Offered in anornate gilt wood and plaster frame, generally in good condition with some losses.
