Condition
The canvas has a firm relining. The paint surface is secure and in good condition, particularly in the whiter pigments, if a little pressed under a slightly yellowed varnish. Retouching work is evident to the naked eye in the cockerel on the left and around the outline of the other fowl and this is confirmed under UV light which also reveals scattered retouching elsewhere such as the sky.
Offered in a gilt wood and plaster frame in good condition.
