Condition

The colours of the original are a touch less red than they appear in the catalogue illustration. The support appears to consist of four horizontal panels cradled to the reverse and bevelled on all four edges. The paint surface is secure, clean and in good condition with the details of the figures, landscape and sky well preserved with passages of impasto remaining under an even varnish. Inspection under UV light reveals some very minor scattered retouching, most notably along the margins. Offered in a stained wooden frame with painted decoration in the corners in good condition.
