Condition

Both supports consist of single stable, flat panels, bevelled on all four edges and painted on the reverse. Both paint surfaces are secure, clean and in good condition, if a little flat, under even varnishes. Areas of old repaint and retouching is visible to the naked eye in the green of the background in both panels. Inspection under UV light confirms this and reversal some scattered other minor retouchings in both with some more significant retouchings to the left hand-side of her cheek and chin and décolletage and in her right eyebrow. Offered in matching stained wooden northern style frames with gilt in good condition with a few minor losses.
