The colours of the original are a touch less pink than they appear in the catalogue illustration. The painting appears to have been recently cleaned, restored and relined. The firm relining has somewhat flattened the paint surface but the actual details of the paint are intact. Inspection under UV light reveals numerous small scattered retouchings throughout, however these are not visible to the naked eye and have been sensitively carried out. It also reveals retouching work along the horizontal line of what was probably an old fold in the canvas 12 cm down from the top margin. Offered in an ornate carved wood frame in good condition with some minor losses.
