Condition

The catalogue illustration is too warm in tone. The support consists of two cradled oak panels, the join about two fifths down from the upper margin; there is some minor retouching along this join. The paint surface is in very good overall condition. There are a few areas of retouching, two in the background curtain upper left, and another to the right of the chandelier. The black trousers and tunic of the most central male figure, in profile, have also been lightly retouched. Sold with a modern black frame, in good condition.
