Laid down. Very lightly foxed. Surface a little rubbed, but overall condition otherwise reasonably good.

Catalogue Note

Lively beach scenes of this type form a significant and characteristic part of Van Goyen's drawn oeuvre. At least two other drawings, both signed and dated 1653, seem to show the same location (possibly Scheveningen?) from slightly different viewpoints.1
