Condition

Light brown staining to the left margin and bottom left corner. Some light traces of foxing at the top edge and another very light stain on the top at the centre. On the verso a counterproof from another sheet with a figure of seated woman.

Catalogue Note

This sketchy but finished composition has to be the work of an artist active in the second half of the sixteenth century in Florence.  It is close to the graphic style of Giovanni Battista Naldini (circa 1537-1591).
