Condition

This work has been well preserved and carefully presented. There has been only very minimal disturbance to the pigments and what little there is can be found within the background. There are three creases located in the centre right of the composition. One of these creases extends onto the sitter's face. There is a minor abrasion measuring approximately 50 mm. in the lower left hand corner of the sheet and there is a further blemish at the extreme left hand edge of the sheet. The work has been laid down onto canvas. Please note that this pastel has not been examined out of its frame.
