  • Pen and black and grey ink and watercolour over black chalk, on paper laid down on cardboard, possibly by the artist;
    signed, lower left, in pen and brown ink, at the base of the column: F Keiserman, also signed and inscribed on verso:  F. Keiserman artiste a Rome fecit / 1810 / Vue de L'arc de Constantin d'une partie du colisee le Temple du soleil de la metasudante / Pour Me Roulet De Mezerac

Condition

Generally quite fresh and in good condtion. Some foxing and surface dirt. Small yellow stains in the sky and to the right and left side of the monument. Traces of a fold towards lower right corner coming towards the first group of travellers. Black line at the edges indicating an old mount. Sold in a large gilded frame.
