Catalogue Note

This work was created shortly after Housser stopped teaching at OCA (1948) to concentrate on painting full time. Her decision demonstrated a strong conviction to her practice and may have come at a price, necessitating a modification to her living arrangements: the address on the R.C.A. label is for fellow painter Isabel McLaughlin’s sister in whose house she lived for a period.
