This painting depicts a view of Sandy Cove along Digby Neck, an area not far from the artist's home in Marshalltown, Nova Scotia. The view looks across St. Mary's Bay with South Mountain in the distance. This work was likely painted in the mid 1950s when Lewis' palette tended to be richer.
