This handsome binding was executed by Gottlob Skon, Frederick IV's book binder. Of the 500 copies printed, several are known with a near-identical binding; one is in the Royal Library in Copenhagen (see Nielsen & Berg, Danmarks Bogbindere gennem 400 Aar, Copenhagen, 1926, p.53), and another was in the Macclesfield Library (sale in these rooms, 25 October 2008, lot 2607).
