oblong folio (292 x 394mm.), engraved title-page, text in Latin, Spanish, French and Flemish, 64 engraved plates (2 folding) by Cornelis Galle after Francquart, plate 47 printed on three sheets (only the first two pasted together), contemporary vellum, with central armorial stamp gilt, plate 7 damaged and repaired (affecting image), plate 31 with small marginal repairs, lacking two pairs of ties

Provenance

Paschase-François van den Cruyce of Antwerp (active in 1650s), arms on binding; Marquis de Beauffort, armorial bookplate, and inscription "Ex bibliothèque du château de Bouchout à Meysse. Collection des Sires de Roose, vendu par l'oncle Léopold. Racheté par moi à Veyt, libraire à Gand en 1890". Leopold de Beauffort sold Bouchout to Charlotte of Belgium in 1879.
