Catalogue Note

This is an exceptionally rare lifetime edition - formerly in the Alfred Cortot collection - of the great C-minor Fantasy and Sonata, essentially a reprint of Artaria's first edition of December 1785. Only three copies are recorded in RISM (British Library, Pierpont Morgan Library and Cassianeum, Donauwörth).
