Catalogue Note

Uncommon. Grechaninov's "L'Ange", an atmospheric setting of a poem by Pushkin, was the second of three "Mélodies" for high voice and piano, composed in 1933 and dedicated to the mezzo soprano Hélène Sadoven. The two autographs transmit the song in two different keys.
