Catalogue Note
This year marks the centenary of the birth of Kathleen Ferrier (1912-1953). This fine photograph recalls the important collaboration between Ferrier and Bruno Walter, most notably in Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde (of which there is a celebrated recording) and in the Lieder recitals they gave together, until Ferrier's early death in 1953.
