  • Autograph letter signed ("H Hesse") with a watercolour drawing of a village and trees

to Otto Blümel in Partenkirchen, in which he thanks him for his letter, reports his skiing accident, informs him that he will take the waters at Baden in October, and be in Zurich in the middle of November; Hesse reveals that this summer all three of his sons have become soldiers, two being conscripted, and they now have left Switzerland, admitting that the place was full of Berliners
