2 volumes, folio (420 x 330mm.), copy number 70 of an edition of 270 copies, one of 150 on vélin d'Arches and signed by Chagall, half-titles, 42 coloured plates by Chagall (16 double-page), a magnificent abstract binding by Paul Bonet, signed on the front doublures and dated "1964" on the rear doublures, crushed light blue morocco, the four covers with similar but distinct abstract designs of yellow, orange, coral, green, blue, and purple morocco inlays evocative of a pastoral sunset, each overlaid with an abstract arabesque of pink, two shades of light grey, and flesh-tone calf, spines gilt-lettered with author, title, volume number, and artist, doublures and linings of grey reversed calf, original wrappers bound in, all edges gilt, blue half morocco chemises gilt, slipcases, spines and edges of binding and slipcases becoming slightly discoloured
