5 volumes, 8vo (208 x 133mm.), 5 engraved title-pages, engraved frontispiece portrait, engraved head- and tailpieces, 110 engraved plates after Gravelot, Boucher, Cochin and Eisen, some of the plates stamped on verso (Cohen-De Ricci's paraphé copies indicating an early issue of the plates), extra-illustrated with 29 plates unsigned (but possibly from a contemporary edition of the Contes of La Fontaine), contemporary mottled calf gilt, gilt fillet border on covers, spines gilt in compartments, gilt edges, L5 in vol.3 torn and repaired without loss, bindings expertly rebacked retaining ?original spines (though with modern lettering), upper joint and spine of vol.3 chipped at foot, flyleaf of vol.4 becoming detached, corners slightly rubbed
