Chancery folio (288 x 202mm.), a8 b4 A-D6 E8 F-G6 H-I8 K-L6 M-N8 O-Y6 Z8 &4 c8 d-k6, 215 leaves (of 216), preliminaries and commentary in roman letter, central text in gothic, with the papal privilege on b4v, large woodcut view of the area around Rome on M1v, 4-line woodcut initials, 2- to 5-line initials supplied in red or blue, red paraphs, later arms painted to foot of a3 (shaved at foot) with motto "Au plaisir de dieu", nineteenth-century boards rebacked with calf and with new endpapers, early manuscript annotations (many shaved), lacking a1 (blank), a2 slightly torn in gutter, small wormhole in quire V just touching text, boards rubbed
