Catalogue Note

Lana Terzi was a pupil of Kircher in Rome. This Prodromo is an introduction to his main work, Magisterium naturae et artis. The Prodromo, which is deliberately written in Italian and not in Latin, stresses in its dedication to the Emperor Leopold the importance of empiricism and the role of learning in helping mankind.
