notated in black ink on systems of varying size, with autograph title on the upper wrapper, initialled by the composer ("...Hymne aux Ancêtres Ch M W..."), and autograph superscription at the the head of the music, signed ("Poësie de A. Dorchain Hymne aux Ancêtres Ch-M Widor"), the song scored for two voices and piano, comprising three verses, the first beginning "Nous sommes les fiers descendants de ces traverseurs d'Atlantique", the second and third verses written out separately for the voices alone, with some added autograph dynamic markings etc. in pencil, and containing a number of erasures and corrections, 5 pages, plus blanks, folio (35.2 x 26.9cm), 32- and 24-stave paper, Paris, November 1921, outer bifolium splitting at hinge; together with: an autograph manuscript signed by August Dorchain of the words to the song, 2 pages, and a scribal score of Widor's songs "Hymne aux Ancêtres" and "Le Chêne du Souvenir", 11 pages--Vidal, Paul. two autograph manuscripts of "Laugh it off!" and "The Manger Song of Mary", signed and dated, 16-23 October 1921, 6 pages, with scribal scores of the songs, and 8 other documents relating to these songs and other matters
