entitled "Neue Zeitung", describing Mendelssohn's achievements in the musical life of London, reporting the high artistic standards, his performance of a Schubert symphony (almost certainly, the "Great" C Major), Gade's Symphony in C minor, and Schubert's overture [to Fierrabras ]; he also reports on Thalberg, Döhler and Moscheles, Sterndale Bennett, Cipiani Potter and others, singling out Joachim's debut in London and Mendelssohn's performance of St Paul, and commenting, with gentle irony, on the claims of Julius Knorr (a former colleague at the newspaper), asserting in the third person his own role, 2 pages small 8vo (c.14 x 11.5cms), no place or date [1844]
