Condition

Original canvas. There are areas of craquelure visible to the surface mainly towards the centre of the composition, one or two lines of which appear to be lifting slightly. There is also minor surface dust to the work, and the work may benefit from a light clean. Ultraviolet light reveals some areas of fluorescence which appear in keeping with the artist's technique, with some extremely fine minor flecks of fluorescence above the white house in the centre of the composition which may be old retouching, and very minor isolated flecks elsewhere to the composition which appear to relate to old craquelure. Housed in a thick wooden frame. Please contact the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
