Condition
Original canvas.
There are a few isolated areas of craquelure visible upon close inspection, including to the light purple, white and dark purple pigments on the right hand side of the composition and in a further area to the thicker area of light blue impasto in the bottom left hand quadrant. There is a small area of paint lifting to the dark purple pigment in the lower right hand quadrant. There are a few tiny minor flecks of paint loss including to the maroon pigment in the centre, two to the brown pigment in the lower left, and two to the extreme upper edge in the mustard pigment. These are visible upon closer inspection. There are also one or two minor frame abrasions apparent to the extreme edges. This excepting the work appears to be in good condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching.
Housed in a thick gilt and painted wooden frame.
