Condition
Original canvas.
The varnish is discoloured, with flecks of surface dirt and matter to the work. The work may benefit from cleaning. Isolated areas of very fine craquelure are apparent to the dark grey pigment in the centre of the composition, to an area lower centre and to the pink pigment upper right. There are small, additional isolated spots the green headstone in the centre of the composition, which appear to be lifting ever so slightly. There is also a faint stretcher bar mark visible along the top and lower edge.
Ultraviolet light reveals an opaque varnish which makes a reading difficult to determine, but there appears no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching.
Housed in a thick gilt frame and set within a cream linen-textured mount.
