Purchased by Lord Drogheda for the Financial Times
Their sale, Christie's South Kensington, 6th December 2000, lot 218
Austin/Desmond Fine Art, London, where acquired by the present owner

Condition

Float-mounted, with minor abrasions and very small flecks of resultant loss to the extreme edges, most noticeable towards the middle of the right and top of the left hand edge. There is very minor surface dirt to the thick, globular impasto, but otherwise the work appears in very good, original condition. Ultraviolet light reveals some pigments that fluoresce, but these appear to be the hand of the artist and not retouching. Housed behind Perspex in a thick white laminate frame, tightly float-mounted. Unexamined out of frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
