Condition
Stable board. The board is slightly uneven at the corners, with minor scuffs and abrasions to the extreme edges, most noticeable in the bottom right corner, with one or two flecks of resultant paint loss.
There are some very minor old frame abrasions to the extreme edges of the work, with one or two resultant flecks of paint loss. There are one or two tiny very minor surface abrasions in the sky in the upper left, upper centre and lower right hand quadrant.
Ultraviolet light reveals some isolated areas of fluorescence and possible retouching, including four or five horizontal lines to the sky in the upper right hand quadrant; a further area to sky just right of the smallest building and an isoalted fleck to the foreground in the bottom right hand quadrant. Elsewhere there are areas of fluorescence, but these appear in keeping with the nature of the artist's materials.
The work is held in a thin, light-wood frame.
