Original canvas, with two small patches attached to the bottom third of the reverse. There appears to be a small frame abrasion in the upper left corner. There is an old repaired tear, approx. 2cm., to the right edge of the upper green stripe in the rug in the lower left corner, to which a patch on the reverse corresponds. There are also four small surface abrasions about this area. There is some craquelure and paint loss to the woman's torso and her right leg. There is a small spot of paint loss near the signature lower right and three small abrasions near the centre of the right vertical edge, above the bed. Under UV light there appears to be some retouching to the two above mentioned patches. Held under glass in a gilt plaster frame; unexamined out of frame.
