Condition

Very good condition overall. With a few very minor lacks and scratches, such as in the Nativity above Joseph's head and in the Saint Catherine's scene, a spot behind St John Baptist to the middle right edge. The bronze frames have probably lost their gilding and some of the glass or semi precious stone inclusions.

Ces belles peintures sous verre sont tout à fait comparables à une figure de Saint Jean-Baptiste ornant le pied d'un verre allemand, datant vers 1730, au V& A Museum, Londres (Honey, op. cit. no IV).
