Condition
The illustration is accurate.
Good overall condition despite the inevitable scratches and marks throughout.
The varnish is turning yellow throughout and it would benefit from being replaced to get more vivid colours to the marquetry.
The veneer is slightly flaking throughout.
Some previous cracks to the marquetry have been restored.

Ce type de table permet d'être utilisée pour la toilette, pour écrire, servant au lit. La partie supérieure, à pieds courts s'emboite sur une autre table que l'on peut dissocier selon l'emploi. Roubo emploie le terme de table de lit au XVIIIe siècle et Pierre Verlet précise que la désignation de table d'accouchée est un terme récent.
