Condition

Overall the condition of the terracotta is good. There is wear and some minor dirt to the surface consistent with age. There are several minor chips, particularly around the edges of the angel's left wing. A number of stable minor firing fissures are visible, particularly in the crevices of the Virgin's drapery. The corner of the tableclothwas reattached. Parts of the surface are covered with a slip.
