Condition
The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. Good overall condition despite the inevitable scratches and marks throughout due to age and use. There are the usual minor scratches on the marble top which is of a later period. There are also the usual minor restorations to the marquetry throughout. There is a small vertical shrinkage crack on each lateral side. The right hand side crack is still visible and there has a been a small loss to the marquetry. The left hand side crack is only visible to close examination. The gilt bronzes mounts have been cleaned.
It would benefit from a new varnish as the existing one is a little to white.
