Description

  • Haut. 76 cm
  • Height 30 in

Condition

Illustration is slightly too clear, the varnish has turned dark actually. A small chip and one 10 cm crack on the marble top. Giltbronze rim is rubbed and tarnished. The basket is a little loose: please note it is not lined with metal but with a fabric which is now burnt and torn. One minor loss to the veneer on the basket rim; another one to to the base of the stand. As expected, some dents to the feet; one patched restoration to the veneer and a crack restored on one foot. Refined piece of furniture; one very similar model in the Wrightsman collection (Metropolitan Museum, New York).

- un guéridon estampillé par Carlin, ancienne collection Thelma Chrysler Foy, vente Parke-Bernet, New York, Part I , 16 mai 1959, lot 321
