The cushion-cut ruby weighing 9.40 carats, flanked by four modified pear-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 2.00 carats, approximate size 3¾, inclusive of inner sizing beads.

Condition

The stone is in good condition overall, but showing significant abrasions and moderate nicking to the girdle at the heads of the stone. Bearing a chip (extra facet) at one shoulder and a large cavity partially hidden under one of the prongs; the cavity measures approximately 2.00 by 1.75 mm and will become more apparent when the stone is out of the mounting. The pavilion bearing three noticeable chips, the most significant example almost running the whole height of the pavilion. The ruby is a medium pinkish red color and is slightly to moderately included, most of the fissures concentrated at one end. The stone is lively and bright. The diamonds show some minor nicking at the girdle, one of them bearing a significant chip at the girdle. The mounting in good condition and fitted with two sizing nodules. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 49183 stating the ruby is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.
