Description

  • Ventrella
  • platinum, diamond
Designed as a bow with articulated ribbons, set with round, baguette, single, whistle and square-cut diamonds weighing approximately 12.65 carats, signed Ventrella Roma; circa 1930s.

Condition

In good condition. The diamonds are approximately G-I color, predominantly VS clarity. Very flexible and highly articulated. Since the mid-19th Century, the Ventrella family has been a leading jewelry firm in Naples. This bow brooch represents the work of the third generation Ventrella family jeweler, Davide, who left Naples to start the Roman branch of Casa Ventrella in the 1930s. At the time this brooch was created, the family was known for linking the designs of the 1800s with the extreme avant-garde of the Art Deco.
